Essay 1-02c: University Life

There are many exchange students from overseas in KGU. Form America, England, Canada, China, Korean and so on. They are about 19 years old to 25 years old. We are same generation. we try to think about exchange students. For example, their life in Japan or in school and so on. We will introduce some convenient buildings.


First, we think that you will use library very often. KGU’s library has a lot of books. You can read or borrow books, watch DVDs, use the computer and so on. You can borrow books as you like. Also, library is the most suitable place to do your homework. If you have free time or want to read books, please go to library.


 Second, there is the good place for them in KGU else. It is the English Lounge. They gather during their free time or lunch time. There are a PC, TV and darts. There are many events. Also Japanese students can go there. Many students use there to talk with exchange students and to learning foreign language and culture. And exchange students can learn Japanese things. It is good for each other. Also, we think that exchange students are anxiety about many things of Japan. For example, a life in Japan, a school life, a food, a shopping and so on. They can listen to our opinion about those and they can exchange opinions each other. This place is not other university so much. So we want students to come there.


 Third, We will tell you one thing we want to set up in university. We think that university has to set up more elevators. We use elevator when we move class room. We have to hurry because we only have a ten-minute break between classes. But a lot of students use elevator all together, it will be crowded. This is serious problem. Because people who use wheel chair may not be able to use elevator. If we can’t use elevator, we late for next class, too. In order to make movement smooth, We want university to set up more elevators. However it is important for our health to use stairs.


 Next, there are other facilities that we want. One is a powder room. A powder room is to make up room for women. There are in a department store. Many students make up a mirror in a toilet, so be crowded in it. The reason why we need the room is else. For example, when we oversleep, we do not have time to make up. So we have to it in school. we can it in a classroom or a student’s dining hall. But it is coarse for women. we often see women who make up in a train or a bus. What we use powder room, when we are university student is important. Because we can get into a habit of making up in powder room.


 Next, we also want a fast food shop. It is MacDonald or KFC or LOTTELEA and so on. A fast food is very cheap and there are many kind. Many students do not have money. Especially students who living by theirself have to buy lunch every day. Some student make a packed lunch by theirself. So, cheap lunch help student. But, a fast food is not good for health so much, because it is high calorie. It is used a lot of oil. For example French fried potatoes. It is flied by a lot of oil, and it is used many times. So we do not have to eat it every day. We take care to eat too much. We eat it twice a week, and the other day is in a student’s dining hall or a bakery and so on. Also we have a nice idea for student’s health. we want a fast food store to make a original menu in KGU. For example a hamburger which used many vegetables. Students who living by theriself do not eat vegetables so much. They have to take it consciously. Also we want to add drink’s menu. There are a carbonated drink or orange juice and so on. And the orange juice is not 100 % fruit juice. And carbonated drinks is in a lot of sugar. My idea is adding 100% fruit juice and vegetables juice. It is very good for our health. There are many good point of a fast food store else.


 Next, we will introduce one things exchange students need. It is multi-lingual signboard. There are too many buildings and a lot of students who came from foreign countries in this university. For example,　America, Chine, Korean, New Zealand, and so on. If you don’t know where what is, you may get lost and be late for next class. We think that multi-lingual signboard is useful for exchange students to know where what is. We want you to make good use, and enjoy your campus life.


 Last, we want to know how study foreign language. Many exchange students are very good Japanese. They speaks Japanese fluently and they can here Japanese. Japanese is said difficult word in the world. So we want to learn how study English. we know that how exchange student had studied Japanese before came to Japan. we want to go oversea someday. So its advice wants to be useful. What we exchange with them is good for us to get along and to learn foreign language. KGU is great environment to learn foreign.

We wish you can enjoy your campus life at KGU. We will be happy if we can be of some service to you. It isn’t easy for you to go to foreign school, but don’t worry. We think that you can spend meaningful campus life at KGU, because this university has a lot of useful facilities. And KGU student and teachers　are very kind and friendly, so please ask us when you are in trouble.
