BR: 2-09: From Curry to Rice

Rice grows in many parts of the world (p.14)

This book is a food dictionary. Many foods are introduced in the book. For example, Curry, Doughnut, Eggplant, Fig and so on. I know Curry or Doughnut, but I have not known Fig. Figs are small, round fruit. Figs are soft, on the outside but they have lots of small seeds inside. I have not understood. So, I looked up a word in a dictionary. It is Ichijiku in Japanese. I have eaten it. I just don't know the word in English. I think that there are many people who don't know the word. So this book is good for Japanese children.
Also, Rice is introduced in the last page. There are many kinds of rice. It is longer than Japanese rice. Also, rice can be white, black or brown. The staple food of the Japan is rice. So I think that Japanese should know it. I saw the black rice for the first time. I thought that this book is a food dictionary.
